Hoopsfix All-Star Classic 2022
As a continuation of Foot Locker’s partnership with leading British Basketball organisation, Hoopsfix, and the ongoing drive to grow the local game, we supported the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic (HASC) for the second year.
The HASC returned for its eighth year in 2022, taking the UK’s top junior basketball showcase to new levels in front of a record capacity crowd at Crystal Palace, with 1500 people in attendance. This is unprecedented in junior basketball and marks the biggest attendance for a purely youth basketball event in the UK in well over two decades!
The run of show for the day included top performance in the Under-19 women’s and Under-19 men’s, games, a 3-point shootout and dunk contest, a morning clinic for local U12s led by GB international players Kyla and Luke Nelson, and a coaching clinic to educate coaches run by some of the UK’s brightest professional minds. We also saw our models from the February All-Star campaign, Cameron Taylor-Wills and Kane Daley take to the court that day.
This partnership is important to Foot Locker as it not only provides an opportunity to showcase and recognise top British basketball prospects amongst the wider basketball community, but it inspires the younger generation with an aspirational platform & provides role models. Furthermore, it allows the Hoopsfix Foundation to raise funds which can then be reinvested into the game.
The entire weekend was live streamed to YouTube totalling 17,000 views in the first day of broadcast, with the Foot Locker Raise the Game Clapham Common renovation video featuring on them at halftime.
