To celebrate the launch of the EX89™, ASICS and Foot Locker invited members of local basketball communities in France (Diamant), Spain (Jeremiah & Marquie), and Germany  (Simon) to share more about how they confidently express themselves on and off court. 

How do you Raise the Game in your community?

 • Marquie: I raise the game in my community by keeping myself available. I value having a good time everywhere I go, maintaining great relationships and enjoying every step of the process no matter what I’m doing. I value my platform as one to be used to push positivity, happiness and connect with others. We Raise The Game when the players know their value so I try to show as much love as I can. I’m the type of guy that it doesn’t matter where you see me, come say hello all I got is love to give!

 • Simon: “Raise the Game" refers to the whole life for me. A philosophy that not only applies on the court but can also be extended to all other aspects of life. In my community, the rule is to give everything: Whether in business, or in sports. Whoever wants to achieve something "needs to step up his game". That's the beauty of sports. It teaches discipline, stamina, and teamwork. Because only together can new heights be scaled. 

 

How do your express your court looks off court? 

• Diamant: On the court I like to express my style with the pairs of shoes I wear - which are usually flashy, but mostly through my very dunk-oriented style of play. Off the court, I let my creativity run wild, especially in my hairstyles, which are often original, as well as in my clothing style.

• Jeremiah: I am mostly inspired by how I feel on that day, I like to rock an old school aesthetic by rocking an oversized fit, baggy sweatpants, and oversized tee, more of an Allen Iverson style back in the day with when he was with Philly! I can also rock an all-black slim fit when I just want to get the job done and get some buckets, those are the most serious days. 

What do you like most about the ASICS EX89™? 

• Simon: For me, the ASICS EX89™ is the perfect mix between streetwear and sportswear with its fashionable colors. 

• Marquie: The EX89™ is a new shoe with an old school shoe vibe; you get that classic and comfort all without breaking the bank. You can’t go wrong! 

• Simon: The ASICS EX89™ embodies the 80s basketball ethos for me. That was the time of the legendary duels between Magic and Bird, and I think ASICS has succeeded with its implementation of a nice culture sneaker! 

• Jeremiah: What I love about them is that they have a unique design which you can tell that speaks for itself and comfort is the most important thing every basketball player wants especially after going hard on the court.
